New slalom/ -speedboard added to my boards

Two boards added in 2010, the F2 missile XS (2007) and Fanatic Falcon 262 (1998).  This does influence the AVG age of my boards a bit:

Fanatic Falcon 91_____2006____4 yrs old
Fanatic Falcon 79_____2008____2 yrs old
Fanatic Falcon speed__2006____4 yrs old
Fanatic Falcon 262____1998____12 yrs old
F2 missile XS________2007____3 yrs old
CA SP44___________2007____3 yrs old

This means the AVG age of my boards is now 5 yrs old, hehe, oldtimer style ;). I can't wait to test my newest vs oldest board against each other! I bet the difference is small.

It looks like the older boards have better quality, out of all my boards the falcon 79 is the only one repaired... This bad quality should be solved by the  producers!!!

  1. Nice one the falcon 262, brings back good memories for me.
But viewing your range of boards, I can't help but wonder: did you only buy it as a collectors item?

  2. Hi Menno,

This board is not just for making a nice collection of boards. The main reason is to give myself a better feeling about shapes of boards.

Some speedsurfers can buy customboards (on their demands) to learn about boardshapes.

For me it isnt possible to buy a few customboards (price +-2000,- each). In the long winter I thought why not finding differences inbetween succesful boards that are produced.

With all different shapes (6 boards) I hope to have a better education. So far I don't really know what I am looking for in a boardshape, hope to learn more. In the end I hope to be able to make the perfect speedboard(s) for myself.

Time will tell if this is a good idea...

you are right, older boards were better built. nowadays everything comes from cobra and they have no need to push quality as they monopolize the OEM market. I think your 262 may surprise you.
